FREE Poetry Workshops at the Climate Museum

Free poetry workshop opportunity through Climate Speaks, a youth spoken-word training program and competition in New York City presented by the Climate Museum. All current high school students in the New York Metropolitan area are eligible to apply, and registration is free.

Thursday October 15th – Art Ready Mentorship Program Application Deadline

The Art Ready Mentorship program is open to NYC high school sophomores, juniors and seniors who are interested in pursuing a career in the visual arts. Art Ready is a Mentorship Program designed to give high school students the opportunity to experience first hand what it is like to be a professional working in a visual arts discipline. Participating students meet and work with a wide range of artists from emerging to well-known. Students who complete Smack Mellon’s Art Ready program are well informed, educated and prepared to make a decision about pursuing a future career in the arts. The application deadline is Thursday October 15th. Applicants are required to complete an application form (signed by a parent/guardian), answer essay questions about why they are interested in the program and submit two samples of past work. Friday October 16th – Teens Take The Met!

The Metropolitan Museum of Art is hosting teen night on Friday, October 6th. Doors open at 5pm. This free event is for teens 13 years and older. Stop by to partake in art making, music performances, gallery activities, a dance party, snacks, free giveaways and much more. No RSVP is required – just show up!
