I am the crisp
open streams
carving rich
river beds
to shelter the
fish that flick
their tails in
my currents,
the sweet dew
collected on
delicate petals,
a great stash of
all sorts of nuts
and berries to
feed the critters
that I call family,
and a traveler
dropping through
deep tunnels found
at the roots of
giant oak trees
to wind up in a
clearing, looking
up at the leaves
falling down on
my face as I
study the clouds
